Shiva Lingam, Wooden Frame Box. Box: 25″ x 25″
Installation at the Liberty Arts Gallery Yreka, California – Fall, 2008
At least 2.8 billion years ago, Cyanobacteria transformed the atmosphere of the planet. This blue-green algae developed the ability to extract electrons from water for photosynthesis. The resulting abundance of oxygen unleashed an explosion of biodiversity, of which we are the thriving ancestors. Blue Green Algae is the most nutrient dense food on the planet, containing glyco-proteins, vitamins, minerals, simple carbohydrates, lipids and biologically active enzymes.
Puja is the Sanskrit word for a ritual that honors an aspect of the Divine.
This puja honors this precious gift for our bodies, the temple of the spirit.
